The Persona project

– Ordinary people

In working to develop products and services, it’s vital to have a clear picture of your target group. But target groups can sometimes feel big and impersonal. That’s why we’ve created ‘Greta’ and ‘Torsten’ in the Persona project.

A ‘persona’ is a detailed, fictitious synthesis of typical members of a particular target group. Using a persona to represent a target group is a great help for product development in nursing, care and support in the home. The Persona project has devised two fictitious characters who, in detail, stand for a large target group of users in the sector.

Greta and Torsten

Based on extensive interviews with and observations of real people, we have developed two ‘personas’, Greta and Torsten. They resemble ordinary, real-life people in the groups they represent. Both Greta and Torsten have been retired for a while and are in great need of help in their own homes. Greta is single, while Torsten lives with his partner in a couple relationship.

In the project, we describe problems and needs based on Greta’s and Torsten’s viewpoints. Products and services can thus be made as useful as possible to the intended target group. More personas may be usefully developed for other target groups.
